The City Watch

In general, the term "city watch" refers to the armed police force of a city. In some cities, the watch is made up of volunteer citizens. In Bridgeport, the City Watch are a trained militia, that operate both as a police force and a military force that defends the city.

The watch is controlled by the Lord Captain of the Watch, who is selected by the Lord Mayor.

The city watch are recognizable by their blue tabards with the white eagle symbol on the chest. They frequently wear a kettle helmet, though in poorer areas of the city the watch may be less well equiped.

Criminal nicknames for a member of The City Watch include "Blue-coat" and "Eagle".
