Standalone Progress
This page will attempt to track progress of TDM's migration from using Doom 3 assets to that of being self-contained and standalone.
Assets
Editor Images - 100% - Complete
Materials - ??% - Ongoing
Most of the common materials have been added, however, a few important ones like fogs are still missing.
See Missing assets for standalone TDM for a list of missing material shaders.
Textures - 90% - Ongoing
Some basic textures (mostly light textures) are still missing.
See Missing assets for standalone TDM for a list of missing textures.
Sounds - 90% - Unknown
Some sound effects textures (mostly light textures) are still missing.
See Missing assets for standalone TDM for a list of missing sounds.
Models - 95% - Unknown
Only a select few models are missing, like the bunkbed mattress. Every other model is from TDM already.
Springheel: Not so. There are plenty of models that are modified versions of D3 meshes. They won't throw an error because they're included in the mod, but they can't be left in if TDM is going standalone.
Off the top of my head:
pick-axe
wooden tray
several chain models
skull01 model
candle textures (and possibly mesh)
jar
noblewoman's legs
beggar's arms and legs
werebeast body
Sykes head and textures
head08 mesh and textures
head06 mesh and textures
head01 mesh and textures
skeleton mesh (x2) and textures (x2)
zombie mesh (x2) and textures (x3)
Animations - 0% - Unknown
The zombie animations are missing. Others?
The werebeast uses imp animations. Must be replaced (both bipedal and quadrapedal).
Entities and AF - ??% - Unknown
The skeleton.af is missing, causing missions that use it to crash. Also rope.af might be missing. These are just text files and can be recreated from scratch.
GPU Shaders - ??% - Ongoing
Console & GUI - 100% - Done
Both the main menu and the console (including a new, improved font) now work w/o D3 present.
Scripts - 100% - Done
TDM no longer needs any D3 scripts at all.
