From experimentation, getting hide_distance to work requires using it with model_lod_X. Note: The dist_check_period spawnarg needs to be combined with one of "hide_distance" or "lod_X_distance" and "model_lod_X", "skin_lod_X" or "noshadows_lod_X" to have any effect!

From experimentation, getting hide_distance to work requires using it with model_lod_X. (So if you want to hide a model at a distance and no low-poly version exists, the workaround is to set "model" and "model_lod_1" to the same value. Edit: Spooks points out that "model_lod_1" "-" also works.) --VanishedOne (talk) 17:55, 9 April 2016 (UTC)
